Smith and Williamson were looking to relocate around 130 of their IT department staff into a new office situated in a different building opposite their HQ. The company approached Fordhay to build a hi-tech, professional workspace. The brief was to have plenty of meeting rooms, collaborative space and open plan work areas allowing each member of staff to operate as a team.
Working in a building owned and occupied by the Dutch bank ING was challenging. The building saw lots of action during the day from clients and staff meaning that we had to work closely with ING’s facilities department (Engie) to minimise disruption. The department was finishing off their own office fit out on the other half of Smith and Williamson’s floor simultaneously. This meant we had to ensure the whole process ran smoothly when working in close proximity to other contractors by respecting boundaries in order to provide Smith and Williamson with a happy, effortless transition into their new workplace.
